The Crime Watch web site was developed in 2000 as a community service donated to the Jupiter Farms Crime Watch in Jupiter, Florida, the community where Executive Director Mike Lopilato had his home.  Mike was an active crime watch coordinator and block captain, so he knew what was needed for this program to be indispensable for detectives and deputies to communicate with the residents to prevent and solve crimes.

Within the first month of use in Jupiter Farms, detectives received information from web site members that enabled them to make arrests and recover stolen property.  The web site became such a powerful tool for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office that Sheriff Bieluch asked to implement it county-wide.  The decision was made to form a separate company to provide this web site to any law enforcement agency who requests it.

There is no charge to either the Law Enforcement Agency or the Community Residents for using this web site.  It is funded solely by Donations and Grants.   We strongly encourage you to consider donating, so we may continue to provide this service for free.   For more information about a Charitable Donation, please see Donations.
