Crime Watch Website launch a big success

Jupiter Farms Sheriff's Substation

The crime watch web program was developed over a year and a half ago for the Jupiter Farms Crime Watch organization, and has been in use since then in our community. The Sheriff has been so impressed by the results of using the program here in the Farms that he is implementing it county wide. The web site allows the Sheriff’s Office to communicate quickly with the members about crimes or any serious situation via the Internet, email, cell phones and pagers. The ability to notify all the members in a few seconds can be particularly useful in our community during the dry season when there is a high risk of fire. The web site also has membership areas and communications abilities for the C.O.P. and C.E.R.T. programs. Residents can sign up for these programs on line, gaining access to the Member’s Only section after membership is approved.

To become a member, go to http://www.pbsosafecommunities.com/ click on “Jupiter Farms” from the drop down box on the upper right area and click “GO!!”. This will bring you to the Jupiter Farms area. Click on the program you are interested in joining from the menu on the left, such as “Crime Watch” or “C.O.P.”. Then click on the “Sign Up Here!” button on the right side next to the program title. Fill out all the information and click “Submit.” The program leader will receive an email informing them of your registration, and will okay your membership. Once this is done, you have access to the Member’s Only section.

The program is free to Members and the Sheriff’s Office. It is funded by Sponsorship Banners, at the top of each page. Sponsorship is inexpensive. Thank you to all the Jupiter Farms businesses that have sponsored the Jupiter Farms Community pages, and special thanks to the Jupiter Farms Residents Inc. for their support. If you have any questions or comments about the site or wish to be a Sponsor, please call Mike Lopilato of CrimeWatchAmerica at 743-5301.
